Hallberg named head coach for Porter’s Chapel boy’s basketball
Porter’s Chapel Academy has named Walter Hallberg IV as head coach for the Eagles boy’s basketball program.
The announcement came Monday night on Facebook when Hallberg explained how excited he was for this new adventure.
“It is with great honor and pride that I have been named Head Basketball Coach to the Boys programs at my alma mater, PCA,” Hallberg said on Facebook. “I look forward to continuing the great tradition of leading players to greatness like those who laid the foundation before me. My vision and obligation will be to gain the trust of the players and family at PCA and ultimately, get this program back to winning championships as they once did.
“Once an Eagle always an Eagle 🦅”
Hallberg is a 1990 graduate of PCA where he played basketball for the Eagles. He has always expressed his love for PCA and now he has the chance to lead his alma mater on the basketball court.
“I have always loved and respected this school immensely,” Hallberg said. “Some of the best memories of my life are from my time spent here and the people who formed and shaped me into the man I am today.”
Recently, Hallberg has been on a healthy living journey, having lost more than 100 pounds in just 18 months.
Hallberg will be introduced as head coach tonight in the PCA cafeteria where a meet-and-greet will be held for him.
