Empty home burns to the ground on Halls Ferry

At 3 p.m., a fire was reported at an empty home in the 4900 block of Halls Ferry.

Black smoke from the area was visible for miles. Warren County Constable Glenn McKay was the first to arrive on the scene, reporting visible flames from the house. The initial firefighter on the scene reported that the house was fully engulfed.

Neighbors mentioned that the house had recently been sold and was undergoing renovation.

Units from Culkin, LeTourneau, Fisher Ferry, and NorthEast all responded to assist in containing the fire. By the time the first truck arrived, the fire had spread up the hillside, threatening two nearby structures. However, swift action by the firefighters saved those homes.
