Hanna, a tropical storm Friday, was upgraded to a category 1 hurricane Saturday as sustained winds reached 75 mph. The storm is now the season’s first Atlantic hurricane.

The storm remains on track to hit the southeast Texas coastline centered around Corpus Christi and south into Mexico with life-threatening storm surge, hurricane strength winds and heavy rain by Saturday night.

Louisiana and Mississippi will see rain from the storm, which will be heaviest along the coast. Expect to see scattered showers and thunderstorms across Central Mississippi Saturday.
