Harris Beauty & Barbershop opens on Drummond Street

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Malcolm and Rosie Harris who opened Harris Beauty & Barbershop on Tuesday.

Many supporters lined up outside the new business to celebrate including elected officials Mayor George Flaggs, Jr., Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace and Supervisor Kelley Barfield, along with friends and families.

The new and improved business has been refurbished and ready for business and seeks the community’s support.

”We will have barbers, beauticians, and braiders,” Rosie Harris said.

”Since we only have five more years to work, Rosie and I thought that this would be a nice investment just in case something ever happens to us then our kids will have something to fall back on,” said Malcolm Harris. “I want to thank God for the community and for what he has done and what he will do.”

“We’re still looking for barbers and beauticians so if anyone is interested in coming they can sit down with me and we will be more than happy assist them.”

Harris Beauty & Barbershop is located on 2212 Drummond Street which is directly across the street from the Vicksburg Water and Gas Company.

The Harris’ are very family oriented. A fact that Malcolm pointed out in his speech at the ribbon-cutting and that’s the type of atmosphere that they’re aiming for in their new business.

“Behind every family you have to have strong supporters,” Harris said.

Hours of operation will be from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and those who have questions can call 601-738-5098.
