Harris sentenced to 30 years for the murder of her husband

Becky Gail Harris, 50, received a sentence of 30 years from Judge M. James Chaney in Warren County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon, 25 years to serve and five years suspended.

Harris entered a guilty plea on one count of second degree murder May 5 for the shooting death of her husband, Alfred “Stan” Harris.

Vicksburg Police were summoned to the Harris residence on Smedes Street Sept. 12, 2016. Becky Harris was standing in the yard waiting for them, according to reports from the time.

Officers found the body of Harris’ husband inside the house with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
