Harrison Street home heavily damaged by fire

A single-story wood frame home in Vicksburg was heavily damaged by fire Friday evening.
Vicksburg firefighters were dispatched to 1118 Harrison Street at 6:44 p.m. for a residential fire that at one time, threatened another nearby house.
The occupants of the home were all able to get out safely. No injuries have been reported.
As of about 8 p.m., the fire is under control and firefighters are looking for and dealing with any hot spots that may remain. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
Responding to the scene are Vicksburg Engines 2, 6 and 7, Ladder 3, Platform 1 and a Fire Medic Unit. Also on the scene are Battalion 1, Chief Craig Danczyk and Deputy Chief Trey Martin.
