Harry Benjamin Cockrell, 1932 – 2021
Harry Benjamin Cockrell passed away on July 11, 2021, at University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was 89.
Harry was born on January 31, 1932, the son of Jeff William Cockrell and Jessie Mae Smith Cockrell. He was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, MS. He worked for Malick Joseph Tobacco and retired from Brookhaven Monument Company. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Robin Marie Cockrell; brother Allan Cockrell and two sisters Margaret Conrad and Sylvia Mae Hale
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Joyce Maher Cockrell; sons Barry Cockrell (Wanda) and Lee Hogue (Lacie); daughters Kelly Kissell (Tom), Kiely Leist (Dean), Stephaine Fuller (Ronnie), and Lesley Callender (Chad); sister Joyce Ann Huskey; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Glenwood Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Clemts will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Fuller, Chad Callender, Lee Hogue, Dean Leist, Tom Kissell and Doug Huskey. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Madsen, Ryder Hogue, Jake Callender and Dave Pace.
