Harvey leads WC to a 52-38 win over Terry

Warren Central High School girl’s basketball team picked up a 52-38 road win over Terry on Friday.

A slow start for the Lady Vikes had them trailing 23-21 at halftime as Zion Harvey was the lead contributor by hitting multiple 3-pointers. WC only allowed six points in the third quarter and Ta’Mya Sims pitch in with a couple of shot in the second half to put the Lady Vikes up 36-29 heading into the fourth.

Harvey, Alexis Jeffries and Sims all hit 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to keep WC ahead along with Jae’la Smith who hit a couple of shots.

Harvey led with 19 points and six steals followed by Sims who put up 11 with nine steals. Jamaya Sanders scored eight points while Smith and Jeffries both finished with seven.

WC is now 10-5 on the season and 2-0 in district play.

Boy’s game:

WC took a 50-43 loss with Gaylon Turner leading with 17 points and Jaylon Winters adding 10. Lazaveon Sylvester scored six points and Garrett Orgas-Fisher finished with five.
