Hattiesburg couple injured following collision with horse on I-20

Just after 8 p.m. Sunday, Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a horse on I-20 east of Flowers.  MHP reports that an eastbound 2011 Honda Pilot collided with a horse that had entered the roadway.

The driver and the passenger of the Honda were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.  The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance.  The passenger’s injuries were severe, requiring transport by helicopter.

The injured individuals have been identified as Wayne and Lynette Wright of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

This crash is currently under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.  The Vicksburg Daily News will continue to follow this incident and bring you more information as it becomes available.
