Hattiesburg man charged with the murder of a 16-year-old

On Saturday, July 29, 2023, around 10 p.m., the Hattiesburg Police Department charged and arrested Dennis Swails, 19, of Hattiesburg, in the investigation of a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old juvenile. The incident took place on Saturday, July 29, in the 500 Block of North 19th Avenue.

Swails was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree murder and tampering with evidence.

He is booked into the Forrest County Jail.
