Hattiesburg Walmart closed due to fire damage

The Walmart Supercenter located off of U.S. I-49 in Hattiesburg will be closed this week due to a fire at the facility, WDAM reports.

A corporate spokesperson said the store, including the pharmacy, was closed on Sunday and is expected to reopen on Saturday, July 23.  The store’s Facebook page posted a notice of the closure on Sunday morning, suggesting that customers visit Walmart locations on Hwy 98 and in Petal while repairs are made.

The cause of the fire and extent of the damage remain unclear at this time.
