Hazlehurst shooting leaves mother of three dead after dispute
A tragic incident in Hazlehurst left a mother of three dead after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head.
The Hazlehurst Police Department reports that the shooting occurred at 6:28 a.m. on Monday at 124 Beasley Road. Following an altercation, 26-year-old Lexus Ball from Pinola, Mississippi, was allegedly shot by 25-year-old Clavarzea Thomas of Hazlehurst. Ball was initially taken to Copiah County Medical Central, and due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to UMMC where she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
Clavarzea Thomas has since been taken into custody and is charged with murder. His bond was denied on Wednesday.
