Head-on collision in Warren County leaves both drivers injured

A head-on collision around 4 p.m. Tuesday on Culkin Road in Warren County has left both drivers injured, one seriously.

One vehicle left the roadway and ended up in a ravine on the south side of Culkin Road. Vicksburg and Warren County firefighters had to do a complex extrication along with a rope recovery to get the injured driver to the top of the hill.

Both drivers have been transported to Merit Health River Region and an Air Care ambulance has been called for one victim to get them to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Warren County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the crash, and Deputy Robert Jackson is leading the investigation on behalf of the sheriff’s office.
