Health conference set for this week in Jackson

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is hosting the 10th Empowering Communities for a Healthy Mississippi Conference this week. The focus of the event is Equity and Innovation: Paving the Path to a Healthier Mississippi.

The meeting brings together health experts, state and community leaders, and the public under one roof to better partner and coordinate resources to ensure healthier communities where we live, work, play and worship. The program addresses current and emerging health science, policy, and practices to prevent disease and promote health.

WHAT:            10th Empowering Communities for a Healthy Mississippi Conference  

 WHEN: May 24-26, 2023

 WHERE: Sheraton Refuge Hotel and Conference Center, 2200 Refuge Blvd., Flowood              

 MSDH’s State Health Officer Dr. Dan Edney and Victor Sutton, Ph.D., Chief of Community Health and Clinical Services, will be available at 10:30 a.m. May 24 for interviews.
