“Help us help you. Lock your vehicle.” Handgun stolen in one of five reported vehicle robberies
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a string of vehicle burglaries on the Oak Park area. One involving a handgun.
Five addresses in the Oak Park area have reported theft from vehicles. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace stated each of the robberies involved unlocked vehicles. Most of the items taken were change, candy and knives. One automobile was reported to have a loaded 9mm handgun taken from it.
Out of the five reported thefts, two homes reported to also had bicycles taken from their driveways.
Pace stated that some of the items have been recovered and returned. However, no arrests have been made. Authorities are reviewing various security footage from the area. They believe at least three males were involved. Pace stated it appeared as though they moved from place to place looking for unlocked cars.
Pace asks the community’s support in deterring these types of crimes. “Help us help you. Lock your vehicle,” he said.
