High school band booster volunteer arrested for embezzling over $45,000
A parent booster volunteer at Brandon High School was arrested and charged with embezzling a staggering amount of money from the school’s band booster fund, WLBT reports.
Donna Floyd, a parent volunteer in the booster program at Brandon High School, was arrested on Monday after the Rankin County School District and Brandon High School officials alerted law enforcement about the suspected financial misconduct.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office, conducted an extensive investigation into the matter. The findings revealed that Donna Floyd had allegedly embezzled over $45,000 from the band booster funds, leaving both school officials and the community astounded.
Floyd, a 42-year-old resident of Pearl, now faces significant legal consequences for her alleged actions. Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett will present the case before Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow for an initial appearance. However, the specific date for the court hearing has not been disclosed yet.
