High speed chase passes through Warren County

A high speed pursuit that began in Ridgeland came to a safe end in Madison Parish Saturday afternoon after a multi-agency effort.

Initial reports indicate that the suspect was involved in a domestic altercation in Ridgeland and fled from authorities, leading them on a high speed chase along Interstate 20.  The suspect was driving a black Corvette and is said to have been armed.

Warren County Sheriff’s deputies blocked all exits to prevent the chase from entering onto county or city roadways.  Madison Parish authorities deployed a spike strip, though it has not been confirmed that is how the suspect was ultimately captured.

The suspect, described as a Black male, has been taken into custody between the 180 and 181 mile markers on I-20 in Louisiana.
