Highway 27 accident victim identified as Vicksburg man

The accident on Mississippi Hwy. 27 at Paxton Road claimed the life of a Vicksburg man.

Killed was James M. Kilburn, 40.

The accident occurred when Kilburn attempted to pass a blue sedan heading north on Hwy. 27, according to eyewitnesses. When he went to pass, he apparently realized there was not room and swerved back into the northbound lane and struck the blue sedan in the driver’s side back panel. That impact pushed Kilburn’s dark grey Honda Pilot back into the southbound lane where an 18-wheeler was unable to avoid crashing into Kilburn.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey pronounced Kilburn dead at the scene.
