Story from Hinds CC Athletics:

SENATOBIA – Hinds Community College men’s soccer picked up their second straight win on the road at Northwest Mississippi Community College when they defeated the Rangers 2-1.

“Overall, it wasn’t our best performance, but in someways that’s positive because it gives me a clear idea on what needs to improve before we host Meridian on Tuesday,” said head coach Robert Gardner. “In this league, it is really difficult to win away from home, so to get three points on the road I’m pleased that we were able to see the points come our way.”

Sonny Bizure (North Billerica, MA) found the back of the net first with his goal in the 29th minute to put the Eagles up 1-0. Bizure was assisted by Dorian Allen(Terry).

The Rangers were able to tie the game shortly after the Eagle score. But, Ladorian White (Tupelo) scored the final goal Hinds would need in the 43rd minute. White was assisted by Jovan Mihajlovic (Serbia). The Eagles would lead 2-1 at the half and the rest of the contest.

Eagle keeper Tyler Ivory (Vicksburg) only allowed one goal but made five saves on the afternoon.

Tyler Ivory, for me, was the difference in the game,” said Gardner. “He made a series of double saves in critical moments of the game that helped us end up winners. I am really proud of Tyler, his growth, and the development of his role even over the last few weeks. He is a big positive for me right now!”
