Hinds CC released their 2023 women’s soccer schedule

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College women’s soccer team has released their 2023 schedule, which will be 15 regular season matches in total and 12 Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) contests. The Lady Eagles will play six home matches at Tom Shepherd Field all are set to begin at 5PM.

Coach Sutcliffe and I look forward with great anticipation to the upcoming season. We have a phenomenal class of sophomores that have worked tirelessly since stepping on campus in August of 2022 to make Fall 2023 the best season we’ve had since returning from COVID.

Head Women’s Soccer Coach stated, “The excitement from the team surrounding our new players coming in has been amazing. We have a terrific combination of internationals and Mississippi players committed to Hinds that will make an immediate impact on the Program. The expectations are high for all these players:  The returning players have grown exponentially both on and off the field through their perseverance, dedication, and love & support of each other.  Their leadership and enthusiasm are contagious. We may not have a thirty-man roster, quantity, like some schools, but there is something to be said about the quality of individuals we have here at Hinds and the strength of their connection to each other. All our players PLAY & CONTRIBUTE every time Hinds step on the field, they don’t sit, and watch others play. The only way to get better and prepare these young women for the next step in their soccer careers is by being on the field. Students attend junior college to prepare for the next chapter in their life. Our Hinds Women’s Soccer Program is proud to mirror the mission of our incredible institution here at Hinds Community College.”

The Lady Eagles will open their season on the road in a non-conference matchup against Pensacola State CC in Pensacola, Fla. (Aug. 18). Hinds will remain on the road and make the short trip to Jackson to take on Millsaps (Aug. 25), before heading over to Belhaven for their final non-conference match of the regular season (Sept.5).

The Lady Eagles home and conference opener will take place (Sept. 12) against Southwest Mississippi CC and will continue play at Tom Shepherd Field (Sept.15) against Co-Lin and to round out the homestand against Jones (Sept. 19).

Hinds will hit the road for back-to-back matches against Pearl River CC (Sept. 22), Meridian CC (Sept. 26), before returning to Tom Shepherd Field for two matches one against Northwest Mississippi CC (Sept. 29) and the other against East Central CC (Oct. 3).

Hinds will play their next three matches on the road against Southwest Mississippi CC (Oct. 7), Itawamba CC, and Holmes CC (Oct. 17). The Lady Eagles will return home to square off against Mississippi Gulf Coast CC for Sophomore Day (Oct. 20). Hinds will conclude the regular season on the road against East Mississippi CC (Oct. 24), where former men’s soccer assistant coach Chris Rash will be on the opposing sideline.
