RAYMOND, Miss.
 – The Hinds Community College men’s soccer team has announced the release of their 2023 schedule, which will feature 17 regular season matches in total and 14 Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) matches. The Eagles will play their eight home matches at Tom Shepherd Field.

Head Men’s Soccer Coach Robert Gardner stated, “We are really looking forward to the season ahead. We will have a mixture of new faces and returners, but bring a lot of quality to the field that has us very excited about what id to come. As With the new addition of Humberto (new assistant coach) there is a lot of exciting things happening in the Hinds Men’s Soccer program and a lot to look forward to.”

The Eagles will kick off their season with an away match against East Central Community College in Decatur (Aug. 18). Hinds will host Meridian Community College in non-conference action for their home opener (Aug. 24). Then the Eagles will travel to Jackson for a match with Millsaps College (Aug. 26).

Hinds will then open their longest homestand of the season playing five straight matches at Tom Shepherd Field. To begin the homestand and Conference play, the Eagles will square off against Pearl River CC (Aug. 30), Itawamba CC (Sept. 8), Southwest Mississippi CC (Sept.12), Copiah Lincoln CC (Sept. 15), and will finish the homestand with Jones (Sept.19).

Men’s Soccer will hit the road for back-to-back matches with Pearl River CC (Sept. 22), Meridian CC (Sept. 26), before returning to the friendly confines of Tom Shepherd Field for matches with Northwest Mississippi CC (Sept. 29), and East Central CC (Oct. 3).

The Eagles will play their next three matches on the road against Southwest Mississippi CC (Oct. 7), Itawamba CC (Oct. 13), and take on rival Holmes CC (Oct.17). Hinds will return home for the final home match of the regular season, which will also be Sophomore Day against Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (Oct. 20). Hinds will conclude the regular season on the road against East Mississippi CC (Oct. 24), where former assistant coach Chris Rash will be on the opposing sideline.

The Eagles will look to build from the 2022 season when they made it to the NJCAA Gulf South District Tournament and lost to Conference Champion Jones College.
