Hinds CC women’s soccer team ties with MGCCC
Story from Hinds Community College Athletics.
Hinds Community College women’s soccer overcame a two-goal deficit to tie with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College 2-2 on the opening day of conference play.
Ana Santos (Brazil) proved to be the difference maker in the second half after the Lady Eagles were quickly down 2-0 by scoring two goals, both of which were assisted by Kailey Coleman (Kiln).
“Tonight was a true team effort where everyone contributed,” said head coach Steve Otto. “To come back and battle after the heartbreak of having two goals scored on you and forcing a draw was incredible.”
Santos’ goals came in the final 10 minutes of the match. Her first goal came in the 83rd minute with the other goal following shortly thereafter.
These two goals forced overtime where the game ended in a tie after two periods.
