Hinds County resident spots stolen vehicle in Warren County, two arrested
A Hinds County resident was able to locate her stolen vehicle after receiving a tip through social media it was in the Vicksburg area.
Just after 11 a.m. on Sunday, Vicksburg 911 received a call from a Hinds County resident who stated she and her husband had reported a vehicle missing from their home on Friday night.
The caller stated she had posted pictures to Facebook and someone had notified her the vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet pickup, was thought to have been seen in the area of Warrior’s Trail. The woman was in the county driving around and located the vehicle on the side of Stenson Road.
Warren County was alerted and deputies arrived on scene and found a female driver, Danielle Lynn Walker, 29, of Warren County and a male passenger, and Jimmy Lee Doss, 42, of Vicksburg, within the vehicle. The vehicle appeared to have run out of gas.
A check of the VIN number confirmed the vehicle was reported as stolen out of Hinds County. Hinds County authorities were notified the vehicle was found.
Both suspects were charged by Warren County with receiving and possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen firearm. A Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun was within the vehicle at the time it was stolen. It was recovered from the vehicle.
It is unknown at this time if the two will face additional charges from Hinds County.
