Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance has died

Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance has been pronounced dead after medical personnel arrived to find Him non-responsive, WAPT reports.

At 11:12 a.m., medical personnel arrived at Vance’s home and found him non responsive. He was pronounced deceased at the scene and the coroner was dispatched to his residence.

Vance has not returned to work after announcing on July 23 he tested positive for COVID-19. Reports show that Vance was fully vaccinated against the virus. At this time there is no known connection his COVID-19 status and his death.

Vance dedicated more than 30 years of his life to law enforcement, serving at the Jackson Police Department and as Hinds County Sheriff.
