The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office welcomed back Lieutenant Eric Paymon, Sr. after he was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 18 in December 2022.

“We’re glad to have you back to join your family, friends and co-workers and we know that you went through a pretty rough patch there but by the grace of God you’re still with us and you still have a loving family here.” Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said.

A get-together was held for Paymon, and many of his co-workers attended to celebrate his return.

“I want to start off by saying thank you and my gratitude is beyond normal when it comes to stuff like this,” Paymon said. “I know you guys don’t know how severe things were for me but I can stand her before you and say that I’m very appreciative for all of the support I have received from the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office.”

Paymon continued to give a very emotional speech where he shared that the accident had occurred on his one-year anniversary with the department. He also mentioned that he has no memory of the incident.
