Vicksburg native Connor Smith and BeSean McCray of Orlando, Florida, were tabbed as the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Football Players of the Week following their stellar performances in Hinds 18-16 victory over Jones College Thursday, Oct. 15.

Sophomore kicker Smith was named the MACCC Special Teams Player of the Week. Smith made all four of his field goal attempts, including the game-winner as time expired. Smith scored 12 points for Hinds in their 18-16 victory over Jones last week. Through the Eagles first two games this season, Smith is a perfect five-for-five in field goal attempts and has tallied 18 total points.

Freshman quarterback McCray was named the MACCC Offensive Player of the Week. McCray completed 41 of his 74 pass attempts for 421 yards and one touchdown. His 421 passing yards and 74 passing attempts are both single-game records for the Hinds football program. Through two games, McCray leads the MACCC in multiple categories including: completions (51), attempts (105) and yards (568).
