Home fire on Mattingly causes moderate damage

Vicksburg firefighters responded to a home on fire at 720 Mattingly St. on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire was quickly brought under control but did cause moderate damage. No injuries have been reported.

The call was dispatched at 3:14 p.m.. Engines 6 and 7, and platform 1 responded along with rescue, fire medic 40, battalion 1, and FD 1, 2 and 37.

Expect firefighters to remain on the scene until around 5 p.m. checking for hot spots and ventilating the structure.
