Horse struck by vehicle on Highway 80

A vehicle vs. horse was reported just before 2 p.m. on Highway 80, near Auto Trends.

According to early reports, the horse was pulled out to be taken for a ride. The horse became spooked, and ran into the roadway where it was struck.

The driver who struck the horse has claimed injuries. Emergency personnel will assess the extent of the injuries.

Traffic is slowly flowing in the area, however the scene is still active at the time of this reporting.
