Husband and wife arrested for allegedly shooting two females in Vicksburg
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — On Saturday, November 8, 2025, at approximately 2214 hours, Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Locust Street in reference to a disturbance. There was a fight which turned into a shooting were two females sustained gunshot injuries. AC Washington and his wife Nykia Washington were arrested for the shootings.
On Monday, November 10, 2025, AC Washington appeared before Judge Penny Lawson on the charges of aggravated assault (2 counts), attempted aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and weapon possession by felon, at his initial appearance and bond was set at $100,000.00. Nykia Washington was charged with aggravated assault (2 counts), attempted aggravated assault, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. Her bond was set at $30,000.00.

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, at approximately 2108 hours, Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to the 2500 block of Ken Karyl Avenue in reference to a disturbance. There was a domestic disturbance between a female and her boyfriend Debarrea Malone-Smith, where another male attempted to intervene and was shot by Malone-Smith
On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Malone-Smith turned himself in at the Vicksburg Police Department.
On Friday, November 7, 2025, Malone-Smith appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter on the charges of aggravated assault and weapon possession by felon, at his initial appearance and bond was set at $100,000.00.
