I-20 reopened after hours of congestion

I-20 East at Bovina was shut down on Tuesday to remove a crane that caught fire the day before.

The process took several hours to complete, causing traffic to be backed up into Louisiana.

Please use caution while traffic adjusts to normal flow.

I-20 East at Bovina will be shut down temporarily while crews work to remove the crane that caught fire yesterday.

MDOT and the Mississippi Highway Patrol will close the roadway while crews work to remove the crane beginning at 1 p.m. and hope to have the roadway clear by sunset.

If you can, avoid that area or take an alternate route so crews can safely work.
