Since 1944, the name LeTourneau has been synonymous with marine-based construction in the Warren County area.

Although the factory at 555 LeTourneau Road has gone by numerous official names due to corporate buyouts and mergers, area residents have long referred to the property has as the LeTourneau plant. It is headed to the auction block June 19.

The property is listed with Williams Auction based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The description reads, “Industrial buildings containing 126,000+/- sf on 213+/- acres in 5 tax parcels.”

Warren County Tax records indicate the property is owned by Cameron Rig Solutions Inc.

Oil conglomerate Schlumberger bought Cameron in 2016. After the corporate acquisition, the Vicksburg property was shuttered and has been empty and idle since then.

During more than 70 years of operation, the plant employed thousands of local people. At least 50 oil rigs were constructed at the facility along with a huge number of other marine-related construction projects.
