Interstate 20 crash victim airlifted to UMMC for head trauma

The driver of the vehicle which crashed on Interstate 20 was airlifted to UMMC for head trauma.

Around 10:30 a.m. a single vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 20 East, eastbound at about the 8 mile marker, near the Bovina exit.

The driver of the vehicle was ejected and suffered a head injury after the vehicle reportedly rolled over.

First responders called in air support to lift the crash victim to UMMC for treatment.

No other people were in the vehicle.

Fire Medic 30, Rescue, Fire Boss Jerry Briggs, Warren County Sheriff’s deputies, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Culkin Engine 205 and Bovina Engine 402 responded to the scene.

The interstate has reopened and traffic is slowly resuming.  Please use caution.
