It’s All Love After The Game

WC and VHS football players after the game

Vicksburg, Ms-Last night’s football game between Vicksburg High and Warren Central was a completely magical experience. Two schools that reside in the same city fought until the very last snap as the Vikings finished the game on top.

The entire rivalry week was filled with throwback photographs and great memories from the alumni of both teams.

Although the game was full of hard hits and major plays, both teams showed mad respect for one another at the end. Only one team is granted a victory in the game but Friday’s performance was a perfect sight to witness the young men of Warren County battle for a win.

Most of the players live on opposite sides of town but they are all connected in many ways. Some played little league football together and some are family members just playing for different schools.

Not only did the players show respect for one another but WC and VHS coaches all shook hands as they represented the City of Vicksburg and Warren County well. Some coaches at WC graduated from VHS while some coaches at VHS graduated from WC, but they all showed that last night was nothing more than respect, love, and football.

The rivalry football game has been going on since 1981 and the great atmosphere continues to grow.

The rivalry only lasts one week out of the season and the two teams can meet again next year.
