The waiting will soon be coming to an end as Monday brings the beginning of game week for both St. Aloysius and Porter’s Chapel Academy.

Everything will kick off this Friday night as both team will be on the road at away games seeking to bring home a victory to start the season on a high note.

The Eagles will be playing 8-man football this season under head coach Blake Purvis who has put his trust in quarterback Jace Riggs to take the offensive snaps. Riggs made the All-District team last season and will have his first challenge of the year against Kemper Academy on Friday.

The Flashes are all of pumped and ready to take on Park Place Academy under first year head coach Bubba Nettles who highly expects quarterback Tristan Wilbanks to take control over the offense. Wilbanks led St. Aloysius to the first round of the playoffs last season and is preparing to stir the team in the right direction this season.

Kickoff for both teams will be Friday at 7:00 p.m and VDN will be providing live updates.
