Jackson State basketball player Williams-Holliday selected in the third round of the WNBA Draft

Ameshya Williams-Holliday has become the first HBCU basketball player to be selected in the WNBA Draft since 2002.

Williams-Holliday was selected in the third round by the Indiana Fever. She has been previously selected as a First Team All-SWAC in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She was also named the 2022 SWAC Player Of The Year and Defensive Player Of The Year.

In her final season at JSU, Williams-Holliday averaged 19.2 points per game along with 11.4 rebounds.
