Jackson State parts ways with head football coach John Hendrick

Jackson State University has decided not to renew head football coach John Hendrick’s contract.
JSU Athletics made an official announcement Monday in a statement.
“In consultation with President Hudson and after a thorough review and evaluation of all aspects of our football program, I have decided that a change in leadership is in the best interest of our program and university,” Director of Athletics Ashley Robinson said. “I want to thank Coach Hendrick for the hard work he has done with our football program. I wish John much success in the future.”
Hendrick had a 6-9 record in two seasons as head coach of the program. He became the interim head coach in the middle of the 2018 season.
Assistant coaches T.C. Taylor and Ottis Riddley will take over the team until a new head coach is hired for the Tigers.
