Ozell Lewis, Jr. was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to serve 25 years.

A Jackson teenager has been sentenced to 25 years after being found guilty of second-degree murder of his 17-year-old girlfriend.

Ozell Lewis, Jr., 19, was accused of using a stolen gun to shoot Jashonna Adams, of Richland, in May 2021. Adams died as a result of the gunshot.

Lewis was sentenced on May 16 to serve 25 years at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He will serve without the possibility of parole or early release,

“Lewis will account for his cowardly actions behind bars for the next 25 years,” said Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett.
