NFL quarterback Lamar Jackson announced yesterday that he will be on the cover of the “Madden 21″ video game. He said he is not afraid of the curse.

“It’s always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, since I first started playing ‘Madden,'” Jackson said in a video conference call with Baltimore reporters. “It’s dope. I have every ‘Madden.; To me, to be on the front of it, it’s a dream come true.”

The “Madden” cover curse says that the athlete who is on the cover of the game will either suffer an injury or have a poor performance in the next season.

Jackson had a breakout season last year with the Baltimore Ravens leading them to a 14-2 record. Instead of being worried about the curse, Jackson hopes that his being on the cover will create a new and better curse.

“Patrick Mahomes is on the front and he won [Super Bowl] MVP,” Jackson said. “I want that curse. I hope that’s a curse.”

This past season, Jackson became the first player in the NFL to produce more than 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in a single season. At age 23, he became the third-youngest player to win league MVP.
