Jacques’ ordered closed following early morning incident – VIDEO

Police have closed a downtown Vicksburg bar after a shooting incident early Sunday morning.
Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, Vicksburg police officers on patrol in the downtown area reported gunfire coming from inside Jacques at 1306 Washington St. and people hurriedly exiting the building.
Sgt. Dewayne Smith ordered all roadways leading to and from the downtown area blocked to protect the integrity of a potential crime scene.
According to witnesses an altercation began at Jacques.
Following an investigation, two individuals (one male, one female) were taken into custody. Radio traffic indicated a firearm was recovered.
A video obtained by the Vicksburg Daily News and taken by witnesses to the scene shows a man taking a gun out of a white SUV or pickup truck and shooting into the air.
Reportedly, one individual with a head injury was treated by paramedics at the scene but refused transport to a hospital. No other injuries have been reported. Vicksburg EMS/Fire, Engine 6 and Fire Medic 40 responded to the incident.
Vicksburg Police Chief Milton Moore said that Jacques’ has been ordered closed until the owners and operators can meet with him and the mayor for a review of their security plan and procedures.
