Jakayla Brooks was crowned as the Vicksburg High School Homecoming Maid of Honor on Friday night.

Principal Dr. LaToya Allen crowned Brooks during halftime of the football game.

Brooks has been a member of the varsity cheer team at Vicksburg High School for four years.  She has also been a sprinter for the varsity track and field team and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Student Ambassador, Key Club, United Way, Chick-fil-a academy and is an avid honor roll recipient.

In the future, Brooks plans to attend the academic resort of Louisiana State University and major in Biology Pre-Med and pursue her dreams in becoming an Anesthesiologist.

Jakayla is the daughter of Maurice and Glenda Brooks.
