James Clifton Edwards, 1933 – 2023

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mr. James Clifton Edwards on Sunday, February 12, 2023, 2:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church 2629 Alma Street, Vicksburg, MS.

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM with family being present from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

Mr. James Clifton “JC” Edwards was born on February 14, 1933, in Bolton, Mississippi, to the late Percy Edwards, Sr., and Gertrude Washington Edwards.

In addition to his parents, JC was preceded in death by his son, Darrin Bernard Johnson, and eleven siblings.

JC confessed Christ at an early age at Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Bolton, Mississippi. He later moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, and joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death.

He was formerly employed at Anderson Tully Saw Mill, Oliver Electric Company, and Wells & Lahatte Appliance Company.

JC departed this life on February 6, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memories: two brothers, identical twin, James Thomas Edwards, Sr. (Dan Ethel), of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Willie Edwards (Mary) of Hawthorne, California; sister, Betty Moore of Chicago, Illinois; and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
