Jefferson County School District names Kimberly Walker new athletic compliance and eligibility coordinator

FAYETTE, Miss. – We are pleased to announce that Kimberly Walker has been named Athletic Compliance and Eligibility Coordinator (ACEC). As the ACEC, she will help ensure that student-athletes meet the standards set by the MHSAA, school district, and any other relevant authority. She will also be responsible for monitoring systems that assist the school district in complying with all rules and regulations governing athletics operations. Additionally, Walker will serve as the Girls’ Track and Field Coach.
“I am elated to announce Ms. Kimberly Walker as the newest addition to our team,” said Dr. LaRondrial Barnes, Athletic Director. “Ms. Walker has returned home to further advance our already dynamic track and field coaching staff. A former Southern Miss track athlete, Ms. Walker started her athletic and academic excellence right here in Jefferson County and now brings back that experience to the student-athletes of JCSD. In addition, Ms. Walker will be an asset for student-athletes academically in her role as Athletic Compliance and Eligibility Coordinator by making sure our students are prepared for college offers and recruitment.”
Walker is the daughter of Shirley Walker and Ronnie Cruel and the older sister of Ronshekal Cruel. She has two daughters, Khare’ and Khazá, with her soon-to-be husband, DeAndre King. She is a 2008 graduate of Jefferson County High School. Walker received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Performance and Recreation with an emphasis in Kinesiotherapy with a minor in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. During her tenure, she was committed to Track and Field all four years.
Later, Walker joined the prestigious organization of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. As a lifelong learner, she has a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Walden University and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. She is currently completing her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Capella University.
Walker has invested seven years into education, where she has developed her philosophy. Her educational philosophy is that all children are unique in their own way and must have a healthy and stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.
Walker will also serve as a math instructor at the middle school.
