Jesse Malcom “J.M.” Brown, 1943-2023
Mr. Jesse Malcom “J.M.” Brown, 80, of Anguilla, Mississippi passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023. Services for J.M. will be held at Anguilla United Methodist Church in Anguilla, Mississippi on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Visitation will be held at 9:30, funeral at 11:00, and a graveside burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla, Mississippi.
J.M. was a life-long resident of Anguilla, Mississippi and a farmer for most of his life. J.M. and his family made many precious memories traveling and hosting traveling friends over their life-time, and their home was always a welcoming place to visit. J.M. was active in the Brown Bombers softball team for adults and many activities on the Sunflower River including skiing and boating. In 1999, he was the recipient of a heart transplant, and for more than 24 years, was blessed to celebrate this miracle with his family. J.M. will be remembered by his family, friends, and community for his annual Fourth of July picnics on the Sunflower River. J.M. loved nothing more than spending time with his family, and in turn he was loved by his family more than words can express. He will be missed by all who knew him.
J.M. is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Brown and Gertrude Brown of Anguilla, Mississippi; his sister, Bobbye Brown Stigall of Anguilla, Mississippi; and his daughter, Stephanie Brown Stevens, of Anguilla, Mississippi.
J.M. is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dianne Keith Brown of Anguilla, Mississippi; son, Roderick “Rod” Keith Brown of Ridgeland, Mississippi; grandchildren Robert “Bob” Hodnett (Lindsey), Roderick “Seth” Brown (Katy), Ashton Brown Davis (Blake), Sydney Hodnett DeFillips (Matt), and Joshua Keith Brown; and great-grandchildren, Drew, Caitlin, and Ruthie Hodnett; Louanna, Rachel, and John Marson Brown; Aiden, Madelyn, Nathan, and Anna Leigh Davis; and Elaine DeFillips.
Pallbearers will be Rob Stigall, Rad Stigall, Russ Stigall, Gus Eifling, Garrett Stigall, Peyton Stigall, Tristian Stigall, and Jake Perkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Anguilla United Methodist Church.
