Vicksburg native, Jherrod Thomas has inspired his community by turning the every day grind into a million dollar business.

At just 32 years old, the Mississippi engineer built the company known as Tomco Service Industry from the ground up. Tomco is a Functional Safety engineering company. According to the company website, Tomco develops various safety critical systems including semiconductors, EV trucks, electric race cars, and Level 4 Autonomous driving prototype systems.

“Due to the unique experiences that African Americans face, my service is unlike anything else on the market and helps those who need support the most,” Jherrod states. “Not only do I provide tips to sharpen their interview skills, but I also provide sales and negotiation guidance and help improve their financial literacy. As Robert Kiyosaki once said, ‘if people are prepared to be flexible, keep an open mind and learn, they will grow richer and richer despite tough changes.'”

As stated in a feature article by Afro Tech, Thomas started off dedicating himself to working hard at a 9 to 5 job like many Americans. Knowing that he wanted something more for himself, he poured his energy into books about financial growth, investment, and engineering.

“After years of working in my 9-5 job, and barely making it through the month, I determined that I would need to do something different if I wanted to live a more bountiful life,” Jherrod Thomas said in a statement. “I started to grab as many books I could find on wealth building, investing, financial literacy, and engineering. I knew that if I combined my current skills with wealth-building knowledge, I could achieve the goal of earning one million dollars. Now that I’ve achieved this goal for myself, my next goal is to help others achieve this goal, too.”

His goal was set on becoming a millionaire and so he put in years of hard work and determination before succeeding. He now dedicates himself not only to the continued development of his company, but also to helping those around him master the tools needed for financial success.
