Jimmy Dale Nevels, Sr., 1944 – 2021

Jimmy Dale Nevels, Sr. passed away on September 20 at his home. He was 77.

Jimmy was born in Vicksburg, MS on January 4, 1944, the son of J. W,. Nevels and Annie Ruth Jones Nevels. He enjoyed hunting and loved animals of every kind, especially his horses. He loved none better than his dog Cece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother Virgie Nevels and his sisters Cindy Emrick and Debbie Wyatt.

He is survived by his wife Gail Nevels; son Jimmy Dale Nevels, Jr. (Teressa); daughters Valerie Murray (Michael), Tracie Miles (Tommy) and Rosaline Bell; sister Barbara Acuff (Jimmy); brothers Richard Nevels (Marie), Jerry Nevels (Sue), Gary Nevels, Larry Nevels (Paula), Alton Miller, Shag Miller (Christian), James Horn (Dot) and Jimmy Horn (Melissa); 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22 at Glenwood Funeral Home. Bro. Bobby Anderson will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.
