Jingle Jams Returns to Vicksburg With “Rhythm on the River” Dec. 15
VICKSBURG, Miss. – Jingle Jams is coming back to the Vicksburg Community for the fourth consecutive year with “Rhythm on the River.” The Christmas talent showcase, sponsored by the Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., will be held December 15, at 6 p.m. at the Vicksburg High School auditorium.
Jingle Jams is part of the sorority’s commitment to enhancing the community through Arts and Letters. The goal is to promote individual and community awareness of the various fields of artistic endeavors. The event was launched as a Facebook livestream that reached tens of thousands of households during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown. This marks the second year the event will be offered in person.
“We are so excited about the amazing line up of talented singers, dancers, poets and musicians who will bring holiday cheer with their performances,” said Chapter President Patricia Durrell Hunt. “In addition to celebrating Christmas through the arts, we will also be helping make Christmas a little merrier for local families with the canned goods and toy donations.”
Special guest for the event will be award-winning comedienne and singer, Rita Brent. A native of Jackson, Brent is also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased here. No tickets will be sold at the door. Children ages 5-17 can enter free with a canned goods or toy donation.
