Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, along with the Desoto County Sheriff’s Department, arrested James Thompson for sale of fentanyl on Tuesday, June 15.

A joint investigation with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Southaven Narcotics Unit led to an undercover operation where authorities purchased 32 grams of synthetic Fentanyl from Thompson.

Thompson was taken into custody and transported to the Desoto County Detention Center, where he received a bond of $150,000.

“The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics will continue to work with local law enforcement agencies to prevent the sale of fentanyl and other illegal drugs in our state,” said Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Colonel Steven Maxwell.
