Jon Graham selected as VDN’s Swim Coach of the Year

After leading Vicksburg High School’s swim team to both the North State and State Meet, Jon Graham has been selected as VDN’s Swim Coach of the Year.
Graham, a first year head coach, led both the girls and boy’s team to finish in the top 16. Graham credits multiple young and new swimmers for making this season successful.

“Having so many young swimmers come aboard and be successful, along with a couple of swimmers who learned how to swim just to be on the swim team really made the year great with us finishing in the top 20,” Graham said.
After unexpectedly being named as the new swim coach earlier in the school year, Graham took control over the young team and helped them reach new heights to cap off an unforgettable year.
Graham was an easy selection for this award due to excellent leadership. He was surprised to receiving the honor, but he certainly was grateful for those who believed in him.

“First and foremost I have to give all praise to my Lord and Savior, I think he could’ve chosen anybody for this blessing and he gave it to me and because of that, I’m very thankful for my family for being so supportive. Especially my wife and the administration, along with my coworkers,” Graham said.
Graham is the first to win this award. The Magee native is looking forward to many more years as a Vicksburg High School Gator.
