Vicksburg native Shemekia Jones is continuing to make boss-moves as a entrepreneur who continues to add to her brand.

Born and raised in Vicksburg, Jones always had a passion for being her own boss.

“I always wanted to work for myself and make my own money because I grew up working several jobs and I’ve always been big on entrepreneurship so I decided to invest in me,” Jones said.

Jones’ latest investment is Jones Wash & Detail LLC which is located at 1931 Washington Street. She officially opened the business back in April 2022.

“We provide car washing and detail both inside and out,” Jones said. We can provide any services that our customers need.”

As Jones grew older, she learned more about business which was a big reason why she chose to pursue her dreams of owning her own company. She is also the owner of Jones N Bar Mobile Bartending (established in 2017) where she bartends at events both big and small.

“I’ve been bartending for over 15 years but I really just enjoy satisfying my people because I really have a passion for it,” Jones said. My customers always recommend me to others and I’ve traveled from Claiborne County to Monroe for events so the bartending business means a lot to me.”

Alongside her car detailing business, Jones also owns KKC Ironing & Cleaning Services where she and her sons provide same-day services of shoe-cleaning (including dress shoes and tennis shoes) along with professional ironing.

Jones, who has worked in casinos for over a decade, credits her children for keeping her motivated as she chases her dream.

Although she currently has businesses established, Jones wishes to open a sports bar in the future and will be attending CDL school soon along with opening up a food truck company and starting a praise dance team to add to her list of achievements.

“I thank God for everything including my family and friends and I would tell anyone who wants to start their own business to never give up and that’s why I did several things because I never gave up and I kept going,” Jones said.

Jones, who is a 2002 graduate of Vicksburg High School, is a fine example of someone who is determined to reach every goal she sets out for herself in life.
