The accused killer of an 82-year-old Jones County resident has been captured by the U.S. Marshals Service in Nashville.

Police found Betty Lou Dickerson dead in the kitchen of her home on Monday in the Shady Grove community in Jones County.

Her daughter is Vicksburg resident Tina Daughtery-Cole.

“You can run, but you can’t hide,” Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin told the Laurel Leader-Call. “The long arm of the law was demonstrated over the course of this investigation and manhunt.”

Dickerson’s 2016 Toyota Camry was recovered as well. The victim’s family was notified before Berlin’s announcement. More information will be released as the investigation unfolds, he said.

“Please continue praying for Ms. Dickerson’s family and friends as they mourn her loss,” Berlin said.
